Northern 2MASS Camera/Detector Characterization Task List for September 1999 Production Start-up

A number of analysis tasks will need to be performed to prepare the 2MASS data processing pipeline before processing can resume after the start of operations at Mt. Hopkins in September. These start-up tasks are related to the installation of the new H-band array and adjustment of the telescope mount and collimation.

All northern data will be processed with the existing pipeline as it is acquired, to allow initial quality assessment, scan triage and performance monitoring. The data from the first 3-4 weeks will be used to tune the pipeline and develop new production psf's. After 3-4 weeks, these initial data from Mt. Hopkins will be reprocessed using the newly tuned pipeline.
