DA Failure Report of OPS TEST #20 and SO's Reponses ------------------------------------------------------------------- #20.modified: 28 Sep 98 13:45 (tab) ------------------------------------------------------------------- #20.01 CRITICAL : OPEN? problem: dt() bd: dither time longer than 32s. Occurs on second to last frame. obsid: 3d994f04 3d9a4f04 3da01700 explanation: (1) 3da01700 is survey_slc using IRSTwo RTS. Same problem #20.03. (2) 3d994f04 and 3d9a4f04 are survey_noslew_irs but execute 4_sec RTS during SAA. The time slot is longer than needed so that a long waiting time (~101 seconds, shown as dither time) occurred. future: (1) See #20.03. (2) Could be shorting 'dither' time after the RTS IRSTwo is fixed. But the 'dither' time still can't be zero because IRS needs longer time than 4_sec. ------------------------------------------------------------------- #20.02 CRITICAL : CLOSED? problem: dt() bd: very long dither time, change in RA/Dec. There is a change in the RA, Dec in the third to last frame with a very long dither time (431 sec and 39 sec). obsid: 3d9b3704 3dad2d03 explanation: (1) The long 'dither' time in segment 3d9b3704 (NOSLEW IRS) was caused by timeline (buffer) switching. The switching terminated this segment and ignored the next ICINIT so that the last three frames (after the long 'dither' belong to the next segment in defferent buffer.) Their RA and Dec, spin time and coadds can prove this. But, if ICINIT is ignored, why do RA and dec change? (2) 3dad2d03 is a filler after a cover ejection segment. See #17.07. future: (1) No change. (2) No change. ------------------------------------------------------------------- #20.03 CRITICAL : PENDING? problem: dt() bd: long dither time with no dither. Long dither time (102 sec) in third to last frame, but RA and Dec are ok. obsid: 3d9b7700 3d9c7f00 3d9d7f00 3da96f00 explanation: These four segments plus 3da01700 in #20.01 are survey_slc which use IRSTwo RTS. After the RTS IRSTwo is fixed (see #20.15 for detail) the problem should be gone. future: Need implement the RTS IRSTwo change and check the next test result. ------------------------------------------------------------------- #20.04 NOT-CRITICAL? : CLOSED? problem: last three or four frames are not dithered (IOCSCI timeline). obsid: 3d9c0500 3d9c0d00 3d9c1100 3d9c1900 3d9c2100 3d9c2900 3d9c3900 3d9c4500 3d9c4c00 3d9c6500 3d9c6800 3d9c7500 3d9d0500 3d9d0d00 3d9d1100 3d9d1900 3d9d2100 3d9d2900 3d9d3100 3d9d3900 3d9d4500 3d9d5d00 3d9d6100 3d9d6800 3d9d7500 3d9d8100 3d9e0900 3da00000 3da00d00 3da01900 3da10900 3da11100 3da11900 3da12900 3da13100 3da13d00 3da14d00 3da15500 3da17100 3da20900 3da21100 3da21900 3da22100 3da22900 3da23100 3da23d00 3da24d00 3da25500 3da87100 3da90900 3da91100 3da91900 3da92100 3da92900 3da93100 3da93d00 3da94a00 3da96500 3daa0900 3daa1100 3daa1900 3daa2100 3daa2a00 3daa4d02 3daa5502 3daa6d02 3dab3d00 3dab4400 3dab4800 3dab5100 3dab6d02 3dab7502 3dac0502 3dac1503 3dac1d02 3dac1d03 3dac2502 3dac2503 3dac2d03 3dac3503 3dac3d02 3dac3d03 3dac4d02 3dac5503 3dac6503 3dad0d03 3dad1503 3dad1d03 explanation: This is NOT a problem. The above obsids are fillers, f, lmc, ocs, p, s, sls, pss and c2. (1) survey_filler: Iterm=ItrmShal, expect three frames without dither 4sec (3 coadds), 4 sec (2 coadds) and 4 sec (2 coadds and stim flash) There are three situations: a. The filler is long enough to finish at least one frame with dither. There will be three last frames without dithers if ItrmShal is executed. b. Sometimes only the last two frames without dither, i.e., the 4sec(3 coadds) has dither in it. Reason not known. 3dac3d03 has dither in both 4sec(3 coadds) and 4sec(2 coadds) frames. why???? c. The filler is terminated by ItrmShal before the first frame finished (no dither yet), one would see all four frames in the segment do not have dither. Should not see more than four frame and the last four with dithers. (2) The observation survey_f, survey_lmc, survey_ocs, survey_p, survey_s and survey_sls use ItrmShal and DtrmShal to terminate. When ItrmShal is used, the last frames data will be similar to survey_filler. (3) survey_pss: Iterm=ItrmPss, 2sec, 2sec, 2sec (stim) -- last three frames without dither Dterm=DtrmPss, 2sec, 2sec (stim) -- last two frames without dither. (4) survey_c2: Iterm=ItrmCalHi, 2sec, 2sec, 2sec (stim) -- last three frames without dither Dterm=DtrmCalHi, 2sec, 2sec (stim) -- last two frames without dither. future: No change. ------------------------------------------------------------------- #20.05 IMPORTANT? : OPEN problem: first frame image looks like stim flash (but not commanded). obsid: 3d9c1900 3d9c2100 3d9c2900 3d9d1900 3d9d2100 3d9d2900 3d9e1100 3da11100 3da11900 3da21100 3da21900 3da22100 3daa1100 3daa1900 3daa2100 explanation: Image injector problem? future: Perhaps GSFC can fix this and we can check this in the next test? ------------------------------------------------------------------- #20.06 IMPORTANT? : OPEN problem: (non-commanded) stim flash image appears in middle of segment obsid: 3d9c4c00 3d9d4c00 3da16b00 3da24400 3da94400 explanation: Image injector problem? future: Perhaps GSFC can fix this and we can check this in the next test? ------------------------------------------------------------------- #20.07 CRITICAL : CLOSED problem: sf#(0) bsf: No stim flash commanded. obsid: 3d9c5d00 3d9e0500 3da10500 3daa3100 3daa7502 3dac4703 3dac6f03 3dad2703 explanation: (1) 3d9c5d00 3d9e0500 3da10500 are fillers in IOCSCI timeline. They are terminated by Dtrm which is designed to do nothing (NullRts). That is why no stim flash. (2) 3daa3100 is the last segment before switching to other timeline. The stim flash is truncated. (3) 3daa7502 is a filler in CONSTR timeline. It is terminated by Dtrm which is designed to do nothing (NullRts). That is why no stim flash. (4) 3dac4703 3dac6f03 3dad2703 are cover ejection opportunities. See #17.05 (1) for details. future: (1) In survey_filler adf, Dtrm is changed from NullRts to DtrmShal. Need to check the result in the next test. (2) No change. (3) Same as (1). (4) No change. ------------------------------------------------------------------- #20.08 CRITICAL : CLOSED problem: dt bd: Very big dither time and amplitude on second frame. This could be a slipped frame. obsid: 3d9e1100 explanation: 3d9e1100 is the last segment before timeline switching. The 'dither' time is waiting time. The ICTERM which gives stim flash is from the new timeline. RA and DEC will not be changed because no new ICINIT. future: No change. ------------------------------------------------------------------- #20.09 IMPORTANT? : OPEN problem: Last (commanded stim) frame is not a stim image. Median level indicates the last frame is not a stim image. obsid: 3da91100 3da91900 3da94400 3da94a00 3daa4002 3dab7802 3dac1002 3dac3002 explanation: Image injector problem? future: Perhaps GSFC can fix this and we can check this in the next test? ------------------------------------------------------------------- #20.10 CRITICAL : CLOSED problem: Two commanded stim flashes with dithers. During CONTR timeline. obsid: 3daa5802 3dac5002 explanation: 3daa5802 and 3dac5002 have RAM violation and triggered s/c safe hold mode. The two stim flashes in each segment could be slipped from the next two segments (RA and DEC change can prove this). Do the Ra and Dec change? (tab: "yes, the RA,DEC are quite different.") future: No change. ------------------------------------------------------------------- #20.11 CRITICAL : PENDING problem: bd: Large dither amplitude with no dither time. obsid: 3dab3d02 3dab5800 explanation: (1) 3dab3d02 is a filler in CONSTR timeline and the last segment before switching to IOCSCI timeline. The wrong and changing Ra and Dec indicate that the s/c still slewing during Itrm (no dither commanded). This must be caused by butter switching but we don't know how in detail. (2) 3dab5800 is survey_lmc and is the last segment before switching back to CONSTR timeline. The first Ra and Dec are correct. But during Itrm, Ra and Dec changed. Same as (1) we don't know how does timeline switching cause this. future: Need double check in the next test. But nothing we can do to fix. ------------------------------------------------------------------- #20.12 CRITICAL : CLOSED problem: dt() bd hslip?: Apparent slipped frame. RA and Dec of first image do not match RA and Dec of other images. obsid: 3dab5800 3dac4d03 3dad0503 explanation: (1) 3dab5800 is survey_lmc and the last segment before timeline switching. The Ra and dec of the first frame is correct. The last three frames with defferent Ra and dec are from other segment(s). (2) 3dac4d03 and 3dad0503 are fillers after a cover ejection segment. Ra and dec are closer to the previous segment. This is not a problem. See #17.07 for detail. future: (1) No change. (2) No change. ------------------------------------------------------------------- #20.13 CRITICAL : OPEN? problem: bd: Dithered commanded stim. obsid: 3dab7802 3dac0802 3dac1002 3dac2802 3dac3002 3dac4002 3dac5d03 explanation: tab: "Note that some or most of these are not really dithered since the dither flag indicator is disabled during constraint violation timelines." (1) 3dab7802 (76.1 deg from sun) 3dac0802 (RAM violation) 3dac1002 (75 deg from sun, sun violation) 3dac2802 (little RAM violation) 3dac3002 (zenith violation) 3dac4002 (RAM violation) The s/c safe hold will stop timeline execution. Don't know the detail why Ra and dec change. (2) 3dac5d03 is filler between fillers. Don't know why Ra and Dec changed a little when stim flash was taken. ------------------------------------------------------------------- #20.14 IMPORTANT? : OPEN problem: Count levels in e-/s are not consistent. Especially in 25 micron data. obsid: (many) explanation: image injector, bad reset level? ------------------------------------------------------------------- #20.15 CRITICAL : PENDING problem: Long dither time before stim background in NOSLEW/IRS. The 2nd to last frame has dither time of 30 seconds or more. The IRS "integration ramp sequence" is evident from the exposure times increasing and then decreasing. obsid: (many) explanation: In noslew IRS, RTS IRSTwo will be used. After all the frames finished in about 480 seconds, command NOCOLLECT will be executed. About 30 seconds gap is generated until ICTERM. In survey_slc RTS IRSTwo is also used. Since ICTERM is issued even later so that the waiting time is longer (about 100 seconds). future: The last command in RTS IRSTwo will be changed from NOCOLLECT into 7 coadds with 4 second spin time. Need to check in the next test. -------------------------------------------------------------------
