Chas became the ipac project scientist, the ipac science supervisor, and became part of the brain trust of ipac.

Chas was heavily involved in the following important decisions:

• who would get the choice offices at ipac, and

• what computer to buy to replace the IBM.

Chas was also responsible for producing the final Explanatory Supplement.
