On behalf of the Science Organizing Committee, you are invited
to attend this scientific gathering to honor Paul Hodge at Friday
Harbor from Sept 9-11, 1999. We decided to have this meeting to
celebrate the great influence that Paul has had during many stages of
our careers and our lives. He has served as our mentor, role model,
collaborator, editor, and a friend to us all. The two principal
reasons for this meeting are to bring together many of Paul's friends,
students, and collaborators at a venue that is especially close to his
heart, and to have a lively meeting on a variety of topics that he -
and many of us - hold dear in astronomy and space science.
A preliminary mailing has been sent, providing some basic information about the meeting (included on this site). A more detailed second mailing has also been sent to likely participants in mid-April. A general final mailing has been sent with details about the final program and arrangements for travel to and from the meeting. Note: Good, but limited, computing facilities at the Friday Harbor Labs will be available during the meeting. However, we must share access with students and participants from other meetings for email and other computing needs. Some off-Lab accommodations have data ports or other network/modem access; participants may wish to bring laptops or other personal computers for this purpose. Last updated 9/1/99. Webmaster: S.
