Below: Me durig the 2007 Aurigids and 2008 quadrantids meteor shower observation campaigns

Since May 2006, I am working as a post-doc at IPAC/Caltech in collaboration with Dr. B. Reach. We are focused on IR observation of meteoroid streams, as observed in the case of the broken comet 73P. Our goal is to determine the age of the particles by combining these terrific observations with the modeling of the dynamics of the streams.

Comet 73P/Schwassmann-Wachmann 3 as seen by the Spitzer Space Telescope (B. Reach, Caltech/IPAC, NASA)

Some Perseid meteors, ejected from comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle, observed in Aug. 2007 at Mnt Palomar Observatory
Observation of the Aurigids meteor shower outburst from 47000 feet in Sept. 2007. The shower appeared exactly (within 20 min.) at the predicted time: wouhou! This picture was selected to be the Astronomy picture of the day.

Observation of the 2008 Quadrantids meteor shower over Nunavut: my first Aurora borealis, another Astronomy Picture of the Day and even a NASA Image of the Day Gallery ;-)

Getting ready for the Perseids and the ATV reentry campaign.
